Biography

Dr Susan F Dent is a medical oncologist and professor of medicine at the Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, US. Dr Dent is the associate director of breast cancer clinical research and co-director of the cardio-oncology program at Duke Health. In 2001, she specialised in the treatment of breast cancer. In 2008, Dr Dent, working with her cardiology colleagues, established a multidisciplinary cardio-oncology clinic in Ottawa; the first of its kind in Canada. In 2011, she founded the Canadian Cardiac Oncology Network (CCON), a not-for-profit organisation devoted to optimisation of cancer care for patients without compromising cardiovascular health.
