AHA 2023 — Dr Fathima Aaysha Cader (Kettering General Hospital, UK) and Dr Shrilla Banerjee (Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, UK), winners of Women as One’s Escalator Award Mentor-Match Award, joined us to discuss their project aiming to support mentors and mentees worldwide.

In this short summary, Dr Cader and Dr Banerjee share the results of a mentorship survey that included 1210 participants, comprising early- and mid-career faculty, as well as cardiology trainees. They asked participants to share their experiences with mentorship including the barriers that prevented them to access effective mentorship. Based on the findings from the survey, Dr Cader and Dr Banerjee developed a mentorship toolkit designed to assist faculty with a focus on women in medicine.
