Dr Gianluigi Savarese is currently an Associate Professor of Cardiology and Heart Failure Specialist at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. 

Dr Savarese has served on the board for the European Society of Cardiology's Heart Failure Association since 2020, and has previously been a Nucleus member of a working group on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy for the ESC. He is a member of the Italian Society of Cardiology, and the Swedish Society of Cardiology. 

Dr Savarese attended the University of Naples Federico II University for his degree in Surgery and Medicine between 2004 - 2010. He then went on to stay at the same institution until 2016 as he completed his Specialism in Cardiovascular Diseases. He then continued his postgraduate studies at the University of Zurich between 2015-2017, where he continued his studies into Heart Failure. Finally, Dr Savarese completed his PhD at the Karolinska Institutet in 2018.

Dr Alice Cheng is an Associate Professor at University of Toronto, Toronto, CA and Endocrinologist at Trillium Health Partners.

Dr Cheng has been involved with the development of the Diabetes Canada clinical practice guidelines since 2003 and served as Chair for the 2013 version.

Dr. Adeera Levin is a Professor of Medicine, Head Division of Nephrology at the University of British Columbia,  and Consultant nephrologist at Providence Health Care/ St Paul’s Hospital, in Vancouver Canada. She is also the Executive Director of the BC Renal Agency, which oversees the care, planning and budgets for Kidney services in the province of British Columbia. In this capacity, Dr. Levin has leveraged her epidemiological training, clinical knowledge, and health outcomes research to develop an evidence-based transparent system which enhances the care of patients across the continuum of care (from identification of chronic kidney disease [CKD] through to dialysis, transplant, and death).

Prof Antonio Ceriello is Head of Diabetes Department at IRCCS MultiMedica, Milan, IT.

He has chaired the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) committee for the development in 2008, and in the 2011 for the update of “Guideline for Management of Postmeal Glucose".

Prof Ceriello has been a Member of the Board for the development of the new “European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guidelines on diabetes, pre-diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases developed in collaboration with the EASD".

He has published over 450 original papers.

Dr Shelley Zieroth is Professor at the College of Medicine, Max Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, as well as Director of the Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Clinics at St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Canada. She is also Head of the Medical Heart Failure Program for Cardiac Sciences Manitoba.

She is involved in several heart failure clinical trials as a PI, National Lead or Executive Committee member. She is the Past President of the Canadian Heart Failure Society and Co-Chair of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Heart Failure Guidelines. She is co-chair of Canada’s largest annual heart failure meeting, HF Update, and Past President of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada.

Dr Shelley Zieroth is an Editorial Board member of Cardiac Failure Review.

Giuseppe Rosano is Consultant Cardiologist and Professor of Cardiology at St George’s, University of London, UK where he is also the director of MSc Heart Failure.

Prof Rosano's areas of expertise include heart failure, cardiac metabolism, cardiovascular pharmacology and pharmacotherapy, heart disease in women and cardiovascular effects of sex hormones. He has a specific interest in chronic coronary syndromes and in angina with normal coronary arteries.
