Biography

Prof Rafał Dworakowski, MD (Hons), PhD, FRCP, FESC is an interventional cardiologist and academic with over two decades of experience in structural and coronary interventions. He has performed a high volume of TAVI procedures using various platforms via transfemoral and alternative access routes. He is also experienced in echocardiography and cardiac CT imaging.

Prof Dworakowski has extensive expertise in complex coronary interventions and advanced coronary imaging.

Until 2025, he served as a Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiology Lead at King’s College Hospital, London, where he developed structural heart disease pathways and led multidisciplinary care models within the NHS. He chaired the Infective Endocarditis Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), pioneering a value-based healthcare approach that became a national benchmark for integrated endocarditis management.

He currently serves as Medical Affairs Director for Asia-Pacific (Structural Heart) at Abbott. Prof Dworakowski has co-authored over 130 peer-reviewed publications, with a focus on TAVI, infective endocarditis, coronary intervention, and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. His academic and clinical leadership bridges innovation, procedural excellence, and translational research, with a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes and training the next generation of interventional cardiologists.
