Overview

In this broadcast, Dr Inbar Nardi Agmon (Toronto General Hospital, CA), Prof Joshua Mitchell (Washington University School of Medicine, US) and Dr Clara Llamedo (Royal Brompton Hospital, UK) will address cardiovascular complications arising from cancer treatment.

Faculty will review cases, analyse diagnostic findings and discuss management plans, all of which are essential to help improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care in cardio-oncology.

The partnership combines Radcliffe’s rapidly growing global community and expertise in delivering the most innovative virtual events, with the knowledge and experience of IC-OS’s members, to curate broadcasts that challenge current practice and have real-world patient benefits.

This broadcast is for cardiologists, haematologists, oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses and pharmacists.

The International Cardio-Oncology Society is a committed group of professionals throughout the world who are striving to protect the cardiovascular health of all patients who are undergoing cancer therapy. By optimising the cardiac status of patients with cancer before, during and after their treatment, IC-OS is collectively improving the overall outcomes including survival and quality of life. IC-OS aims to provide the latest scientific and clinical education and research for anyone treating patients with cancer in the hopes of enhancing cardiovascular protection.

Inbar Nardi Agmon

Inbar Nardi Agmon

Dr Inbar Nardi Agmon is undertaking a two-year clinical fellowship at Toronto General Hospital, Ontario, CA. 

Following the completion of her subspecialty in cardiology and until July 2023, she served as the head of the cardio-oncology clinic at Beilinson Hospital, Rabin Medical Center, Israel. 

In addition to her clinical responsibilities and participation in clinical studies both in Israel and Toronto, Dr Nardi Agmon operates a basic-science laboratory in Israel, where she investigates the effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors on atherosclerosis.

Joshua Mitchell

Joshua Mitchell

Prof Joshua Mitchell is Director of Cardio-Oncology Center of Excellence at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, US. Prof Mitchell is a distinguished expert in cardio-oncology and cardiac amyloidosis. His research focuses on optimising prevention, screening, and management of cardiac complications from cancer therapies and enhancing the diagnosis and care of cardiac amyloid patients.

Clara Llamedo

Clara Llamedo

Dr Clara Llamedo is a Clinical Fellow in Cardio-Oncology at Royal Brompton Hospital, London, UK.

Prior to joining the unit led by Dr Alexander Lyon, Dr Llamedo completed both her general cardiology and echocardiography training in Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires in Argentina. During her training, she developed a keen interest in cardio-oncology and was invited to participate in clinical research in the field.

Daniel Lenihan

Daniel Lenihan

Prof Daniel Lenihan is a cardio-oncologist specialising in cardiology, heart disease and advanced heart failure, at Saint Francis Healthcare System, Cape Girardeau, US.

He is a co-Founder and Board Member of the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS), which is an international professional association whose primary goal is to eliminate cardiac disease as a barrier to effective cancer therapy. 

He is actively involved in patient care as the Director of the Cardio-Oncology Programme, Cardiac Rehabilitation, and the Heart Failure clinic at Saint Francis Healthcare System.

Joe Carver

Joe Carver

Prof Joe Carver is the Bernard Fishman Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, US. He is the Chief of Staff at the Abramson Cancer Center.

He is the Director of the Thalheimer Cardio-oncology Center at the Abramson Cancer Center and his clinical practice is in the subspecialty of cardio-oncology.
