Overview
For this 2nd edition of the THV Summit, which was hosted in Amsterdam on (30 June - 1 July 2022) distinguished chair and faculty members present a full day of live cases from two renowned TAVI centres in EMEA for a case-based program dedicated to Aortic Valve Therapies.
During the THV Summit, experienced structural heart valve provided expert insight into the essentials of the TAVI procedure with two live cases. Each case focuses on a specific topic and patient profile using a step-by-step approach to review in detail the key factors to optimising valve therapy from pre-procedural planning to outcomes with special emphasis on efficiency and lifetime management of patients.

Faculty Biographies
Lars Søndergaard
Professor Lars Søndergaard is a consultant cardiologist at Rigshospitalet – Copenhagen, Denmark. Professor of Cardiology at University of Copenhagen, he published over 300 peer reviewed articles, and more than 15 textbook chapters. His research interests are focused on adults with congenital heart diseases and catheter-based heart valve interventions, as well as congenital and structural heart diseases. He led the first-in-human transcatheter mitral valve implantation (CardiAQ) in 2012 and he actively participated to several trials, including NOTION (transcatheter vs. surgical aortic valve replacement in patients with aortic stenosis and low surgical risk), and the REDUCE randomised trial (PFO vs anti-platelet therapy after cryptogenic stroke).
Darren Mylotte
Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Darren Mylotte graduated from RCSI Medical School in 2001, obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland in 2004, and completed the Irish Cardiology Specialist Training Scheme. He and was conferred with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) thesis in 2010 by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and has also undertaken a PhD thesis. N the subject of Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) at the world renowned ThoraxCentre in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Andreas Rück
Dr Andreas Rück is the head of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) program at Karolinska University Hospital – Stockholm, Sweden and the chairman of the Swedish Percutaneous Valve Registry (a registry within the Swedish Heart Registries SWEDEHEART). He is member of the steering group of SWEDEHEART and of the Working group for PCI and Valve Interventions within the Swedish Society of Cardiology. His clinical specialties include PCI and percutaneous valve implantation.
