CSI Frankfurt and PICS-AICS are currently the leading conferences about congenital, structural and valvar interventions in Europe and the US. Both have a track record of almost 20 years and both attract around 1000 participants from all over the world. In 2015, CSI and PICS independently organized additional annual meetings to cater for physicians involved in the care of congenital, structural and valvar heart disease patients in the Asia-Pacific region.

CSI AP 2015, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, proved to be a great success with attendees from more than 25 countries in the Asia Pacific region but also from Europe, Africa and America. Likewise, PICS-AICS AP 2015 held in Taipei, Taiwan was a great success with several hundred visitors from many Asian countries and also from overseas. Building on the success of CSI AP and PICS-AICS AP, the decision was made to join forces to offer a unique experience that no other conference can match.

PICS-CSI Asia will give a comprehensive overview of major topics in catheter therapy of congenital, structural and valvar heart disease and is designed for adult and pediatric interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, imaging specialists, nurses, technicians and any other medical specialty involved in these procedures. It will also provide opportunities for engineers, device design specialists and inventors to learn from and network with physicians.

We are fully committed to ensuring that the success of this meeting will parallel that of its European and American counterparts. The program will include lectures from leading experts in the field, live case demonstrations, hands-on simulation training, master class sessions and an industry exhibition. The high number of live cases and the close interaction between conference attendees and faculty will make PICS-CSI Asia unique in the Asia-Pacific region. Our concept is to facilitate a conference for Asian colleagues organized by Asian colleagues. We acknowledge and appreciate the huge potential not only in interventional procedures but also in science and technology in the Asia Pacific region and we see our role in facilitating and encouraging this process.

The first PICS-CSI Asia will take place on March 3-5, 2016 in Dubai. Future meetings will be organized alternating in other Asian-Pacific countries.
