As announced to our membership and community in March this year the CSANZ 2020 ASM and ANZET meetings have been postponed to December 10-13, 2020. Despite good progress with the control of COVID-19 in Australia and New Zealand, it has becoming increasingly clear that it is unlikely that we will be able to host a meeting of the usual size in 2020. There has been enormous interest from our members in holding a meeting in 2020, with some 800 scientific abstracts submitted.

In order to guarantee a CSANZ Scientific meeting takes place in 2020, and to enable maximum engagement with our members, we will deliver the main content of ASM 2020 as a “Virtual Meeting.” There will also be a ‘plus’ option that will enable limited numbers of delegates to attend the Gold Coast Convention Centre venue and possibly other secondary or “satellite” venues. We are working with the convention centre to ensure that an in-person offering would comply to government regulations and be COVID-19 safe. The size of such gatherings will be determined by government policy.
