Biography

I am an Interventional Cardiology Consultant at Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust, Birmingham, United Kingdom (UK).

I graduated from Mysore Medical College, India and completed my Cardiology training in the United Kingdom (UK). Following this, I did an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, Toronto General Hospital.

I am a trained CTO PCI operator with interests in CT coronary angiography and intracoronary imaging. I am the departmental CTCA service lead and the departmental research lead. I am the Primary Investigator for three national multicentre cardiovascular trials and my research interests and publications focus on calcium modification and CTO PCI.

In addition, I am a member of the Women As One (WAO) international organisation for female Cardiologists and participate in their mentorship program, encouraging and guiding junior female cardiology trainees.

Dr Vinoda Sharma is on the Editorial Board of European Cardiology Review.
