Thomas D Giles, MD, is President of the American Society of Hypertension (ASH). He is also Professor of Medicine at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine and Director of Cardiovascular Research (cardiology) and Director of the program in heart failure and hypertension at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Dr Giles is a past Governor of the American College of Cardiology for Louisiana and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American College of Physicians (ACP), and the American Heart Association (AHA). He is a consulting editor for the American Journal of Hypertension, as well as being on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Geriatric Cardiology, Hypertension: Index & Reviews, Journal of Clinical Hypertension, and Heart Disease. Dr Giles has authored over 270 articles reflecting his interest in cardiovascular pharmacology, cardiomyopathies, heart failure, and hypertension.
