Biography

Dr Robert P Giugliano is an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and senior investigator of the Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) Study Group at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, US.

Dr Giugliano obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Boston, US. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease. He serves as a reviewer and/or Editorial Board for over two dozen journals, and has delivered hundreds of lectures throughout the US and abroad. He authored more than 300 original articles, 200 reviews/editorials/book chapters. His research interests are novel lipid-lowering therapies, antithrombotic therapies for afib and ACS, and assessment of outcomes in patients with ACS. 

Dr Giugliano is the Principal TIMI Inv for 11 clinical trials including the ENGAGE AF-TIMI 48 trial with edoxaban, EC member of several trials including IMPROVE-IT, FOURIER, VESALIUS-CV, and AZALEA-TIMI 71 trials.
