Richard Solomon, MD, FASN, is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Vermont School of Medicine and Director of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Fletcher Allen Health Care. He is interested in acute kidney injury (AKI), in particular the prevention of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN), and has been the principal investigator for a number of important trials. Professor Solomon is a reviewer for journals in nephrology, cardiology, and radiology on the subject of AKI. He received his medical degree from Yale Medical School and trained in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and in nephrology at Harvard Medical School.
