Dr Rakesh Yadav was born and raised in Uttar Pradesh, India. He completed his schooling and early education in the region before pursuing a career in medicine. Over the course of his academic and professional life, he has lived and worked in several cities across India, including Gorakhpur, Agra, and New Delhi. Today, he serves at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, one of the country’s foremost medical institutions, where he continues to contribute to clinical medicine, research, and national health policy.
Academic History
Dr Yadav began his medical journey at Gorakhpur Medical College, where he completed his MBBS with multiple distinctions. He then pursued postgraduate training in internal medicine at Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra, earning his MD with a Gold Medal, demonstrating early academic excellence and deep commitment to clinical medicine.

He currently serves as Professor, Department of Cardiology, and has previously held the administrative positions of Sub-Dean (Academic)and Acting Dean of AIIMS New Delhi, contributing significantly to academic governance and institutional development.
