Olivier F Bertrand is assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at Laval University. His research interests include the use of trans-radial coronary intervention, the cardio-metabolic aspects of atherosclerosis, the imaging of atherosclerosis and therapies for acute myocardial infarction. He is the principal investigator of the EASY studies and the VICTORY trial. Dr Bertrand graduated in medicine in 1990 at University of Liège (Belgium) and received his cardiology specialist diploma at the same institution in 1995. He did his interventional cardiology fellowship at the Montreal Heart Institute from 1995 to 1998. He obtained a PhD degree in Experimental Medicine from McGill University in 2000
Dr. Bertrand is active in clinical research in particular in the field of the intervention and treatment of coronary cardiac diseases. He acts as principal investigator of clinical trials and is also the initiator of several original projects .
