Luc Mertens

Dr Luc Mertens is Medical Director of Echocardiography and Co-Director of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, CA. 

With the University of Toronto, he has been appointed Professor of Paediatrics and is a Senior Associate Scientist for the Research Institute at SickKids. 

His research interests include developing novel non-invasive imaging techniques for assessing cardiac and vascular function of children with congenital and acquired heart disease. Dr Mertens has been involved in leadership positions within different professional organisations in Europe and North America.  He is the current president of the Canadian Pediatric Cardiology Association.
