Overview

Stay up-to-date with our regular review series, View from the Thoraxcenter hosted by Prof Nicolas Van Mieghem and Dr Joost Daemen (Thoraxcenter, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, NL). In this #TCT2023 edition they provide a short analysis of the most pertinent data from the late-breaking science presentations.

Short, accessible Expert Interviews were conducted with investigators focusing on study design, key results and applicability of the latest data.

About the episode

TCT 23 - We are joined by Dr Matthias Götberg (Lund University, SE) to discuss recent findings from a study of the SWEDEHEART Registry, where the long-term outcomes of iFR vs FFR guided coronary revascularization were compared.

Results suggest that in a national registry analysis of 42887 patients investigated with iFR or FFR with 5-year follow-up, similar outcomes were observed in MACE, all-cause death, myocardial infarction, unplanned revascularization and deferred and treated populations.

Interview Questions:

  1. What was the reasoning behind this study?
  2. What was the patient cohort and study design?
  3. What were the key findings?
  4. What are your take-home messages?
  5. What further study is still required?

Recorded remotely from Lund, 2023.
