Overview
Rhythm Interventions Online 2023 – one of the leading practical education broadcasts in electrophysiology – took place 30 November – 1 December 2023.
Bringing together a faculty of over 47 key opinion leaders, seven case centres from both sides of the Atlantic and a global audience of over 2,500 delegates, RIO 2023 delivered best-in-class education curated to support practical learning and, ultimately, better patient outcomes.
With practice at its core, RIO again presented challenging and complex live cases from centres of excellence, alongside hot topics, presentations and debate from electrophysiologists at the forefront of practice and global innovation.
Watch the full programme – including breakouts and symposia – on-demand here.
Watch out for further details shortly for Rhythm Interventions Online 2024.
Note, the live version of this event was CME accredited; this on-demand version is not.

Faculty Biographies
Richard Schilling
Consultant Cardiologist
Prof Schilling has been a consultant cardiologist at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London NHS trust since 2001. He was appointed as chair in cardiology and electrophysiology in 2009. His current practice involves all aspects of electrophysiology and management of cardiac arrhythmia including catheter ablation, implantation of pacemakers and cardiac defibrillators, and cardiac resynchronization therapy for heart failure patients.
Prof Schilling was part of the team that lead the merger of the Heart and Barts hospitals which is one of the largest heart centers in Europe. He is the Strategy Director for Barts Hospital, the Medical Director for the Arrhythmia Alliance and President-Elect for the British Heart Rhythm Society.
Prof Schilling is a member of the AER editorial board.
KR Julian Chun
Proffessor
Prof Chun heads the electrophysiology section at CardioVascular Center Bethanien, Markus Krankenhaus in Frankfurt, Germany. He trained at the University of Lübeck and St Georg Hospital, Hamburg, Germany. He is a member of the Nucleus and Treasurer of the Arrhythmia Working Group at the German Cardiac Society. He is a faculty member at the University of Lübeck.
Prof Chun is a member of the Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review editorial board.
Vivek Reddy
Director of Cardiac Arrhythmia Services
Dr Vivek Y. Reddy is Director of Cardiac Arrhythmia Services for The Mount Sinai Hospital and Director of Electrophysiology for the Mount Sinai Health System, and The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust Professor of Medicine in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr Reddy is one of the US's premier cardiac electrophysiologists. He leads a team of physician-scientists who are developing and testing advanced therapies for cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure, including catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, and device therapies for stroke prevention. Under his leadership, Mount Sinai is the lead investigational site for many multinational clinical trials exploring new arrhythmia procedures and technologies, most recently pulsed field ablation to treat atrial fibrillation. Moreover, in 2014, he implanted the world’s first miniature leadless pacemaker, as well as the first leadless pacemaker in…
Claire Martin
Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist
Dr Martin undertook undergraduate and clinical training at Cambridge University (Gonville and Caius College). She then completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge funded by a Medical Research Council Training Fellowship, and for this was awarded the British Cardiovascular Society Young Research Workers’ Prize. After specialist training at Papworth Hospital, she undertook clinical fellowships at two world-leading cardiac centres: Barts Heart Centre and subsequently at the Hopital du Haut-Leveque, Bordeaux, through funding from a prestigious European Society of Cardiology Training Grant.
Dr Martin treats all cardiac arrhythmias, and has a particular interest in the ablation of ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation.
Dhiraj Gupta
Consultant Cardiologist
Prof Dhiraj Gupta is a consultant cardiologist at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH), which is the largest specialist cardiothoracic centre in the UK. Prof Gupta is a very high-volume operator in interventional electrophysiology and left atrial appendage occluderwork. He proctors cardiologists nationally and internationally for complex procedures.
