Native and Virtual TEE for Structural Heart Interventions

The treatment of structural heart disease using percutaneous techniques has evolve tremendously during the last years. Parallel to that also the related imaging techniques have changed and improved. One of those developments in imaging is the ability to predict optimal views to assess the right treatment and to ensure the best patient outcome. Nowadays, 3mensio Structural Heart has the ability to use standard CT data to predict the optimal TEE views that can be obtained during a structural heart interventions. From the CT data you can detect the esophagus trajectory and simulate the TEE probe. The simulation visualizes both the single- and biplane views of all the structures of the heart as normally shown on TEE images. The primary learning objective of this video is to view the use of imaging during structural heart interventions and to see how to simulate TEE images using CT data and its benefits.

Quantification of Aortic Regurgitation Using Video Densitometry

A certain degree of aortic regurgitation (AR) is not infrequently encountered after standard aortic valve replacement, and reportedly more often following transcatheter aortic valve implantation. AR is regularly screened by eye-balling, which results in high inter- and intra-observer variability. Caas A-Valve is a state-of-the art video densitometric quantification software that allows physicians to quantify valvular and paravalvular regurgitation immediately in the cath lab directly after placing the valve. Together with the distinguished team from NUI Galway lead by Professor Patrick Serruys this webinar was hosted to explain about Caas A-Valve and its capabilities.
