e-SPACE CARDIO-RENAL-METABOLIC 2022, held on 4-6 March 2022, was the second edition of the global online conference on cardio renal metabolic diseases.

 

The organisers, under the direction of a world-renowned scientific committee, brought together leading experts in cardiology, nephrology, and diabetology to share clinical practice strategies in treating the inter-related diseases now affecting hundreds of millions people worldwide.

Melanie Davies

Melanie Davies

Director of the Leicester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, Leicester, UK

Prof Melanie Davies is Director of the Leicester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre, Director of the Patient Recruitment Centre Leicester and a Professor in Diabetes Medicine at the University of Leicester, UK. She has published over 500 original articles in leading journals.

Professor Davies’ research interests include the causes, screening, prevention, self-management and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. She has served as the PI for a number of large global studies in diabetes, obesity, sedentary behaviour and cardiovascular disease. In 2016 she was the recipient of a CBE for services to diabetes research.

Director of the Dallas Diabetes Research Center at Medical City, and Clinical Professor of Medicine

Dr Julio Rosenstock is Director of the Dallas Diabetes Research Center at Medical City, and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas.

Dr Rosenstock obtained his MD from the University of Costa Rica School of Medicine with fellowships in Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, London, UK, and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
