Faculty Biographies
Sukhjinder Nijjer
Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Sukhjinder Nijjer is a leading consultant cardiologist at Hammersmith Hospital and Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London, UK. He specialises in coronary artery disease, heart attack management, coronary angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation and advanced cardiac imaging.
An honours graduate of the University of Bristol with a first-class degree in pharmacology, Dr Nijjer trained at Hammersmith, Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals. His PhD at Imperial College London, supported by the Medical Research Council, pioneered iFR and iFR-pullback technology – now a global gold standard for assessing coronary blockages.
He is internationally recognised for expertise in coronary physiology, intravascular imaging, anti-platelet and anticoagulant therapy, CT coronary angiography, echocardiography and stress testing. Dr Nijjer speaks regularly at global cardiology conferences…
