Zeljko J Bosnjak, PhD, is Professor of Anesthesiology and Physiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. His research interests include cellular signal transduction pathways responsible for anesthetic-induced cardioprotection and the modulation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-sensitive potassium current in cardiac myocytes by ischemia and volatile anesthetics. Dr Bosnjak is an Editor of Anesthesiology and a reviewer for a number of journals. He has chaired the NIH Surgery, Anesthesia and Trauma Study Section and served on several national Committees. He is the author of more than 220 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has been continually funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1981. Dr Bosnjak is a member of many professional societies and the recipient of various awards.
