Tasneem Z Naqvi, MD, is Director of Echocardiography Services at the University of Southern California and Professor of Clinical Medicine at Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles, California. Dr Naqvi is a cardiologist and researcher specializing in the performance and interpretations of transthoracic echo-Doppler studies, transesophageal echo-Doppler studies, and vascular ultrasound studies, as well as stress echocardiographic studies. Dr Naqvi is a member of many professional societies, including the Society of Vascular Medicine and Biology Writing Group, and the Vascular Strategy Task Force. She is a reviewer for several journals, an editorial board member for the Journal of American Society of Cardiology and Minerva Cardioangiologica, and the imaging section editor for Cardiology Review. Dr Naqvi is board-certified in the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Cardiovascular Disease, and holds Comprehensive Certification in Adult Echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography. She is a Certified Vascular Technologist and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. While in the UK, she became Senior House Officer in Internal Medicine at Lister Hospital, Stevenage and became Registrar in Internal Medicine at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Birmingham. She then continued her residency in Internal Medicine in the US at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York and her fellowship in clinical cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
