Steven V Manoukian, MD, is Director of Interventional Cardiology at Emory Crawford Long Hospital of Emory University School of Medicine, one of the oldest and largest cardiology training programmes in the US. In addition to his clinical and teaching responsibilities, he is active in interventional research, particularly in the area of antithrombin and antiplatelet therapy in percutaneous coronary intervention and acute coronary syndromes. He is a member of the faculty of Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT), the American Heart Association (AHA) and American College of Cardiology (ACC) scientific sessions, the Emory Practical Intervention Course (EPIC) and numerous other national and international meetings. He has received the Excellence in Teaching Award for Emory Crawford Long Hospital, is a medical reporter for FOX television news in Atlanta, and a past President of the Atlanta Division of the American Heart Association. Dr Manoukian received his MD degree from New York University School of Medicine, completed residency and chief residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Emory University School of Medicine.
