Dr Robert Hebeler is the Attending Surgeon in the Department Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center. He is involved in the development of newer suturing devices made of nytinol, which may replace conventional suture in repairs of the mitral valve. In addition, he is a co-investigator in the STITCH trial for congestive heart failure. Other studies in which he is participating include the St Jude Toronto stentless study for aortic valve replacement and a lung cancer sentinel lymph node study. Dr Hebeler is a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Network, International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
