Peter Block, MD, is a Professor at Emory University School of Medicine, Director of Interventional Research at the Andreas Gruentzig Research Center, and Director of the Structural Heart Disease Program at Emory University Hospital. Previously, he was a Professor of Biomedical Science and Engineering at Oregon Graduate Institute of Science and Technology. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA), the Council of Clinical Cardiology of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (SCAI). He has published over 250 scientific articles, reviews, and chapters. Dr Block graduated from Amherst College cum laude in 1959, and received his medical degree cum laude from Harvard Medical School in 1964.
