Dr Malcolm M Bersohn is a Professor of Medicine at UCLA and directs the Arrhythmia Service at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. His clinical research interests are focused on device treatment for arrhythmias. He has also conducted basic research on the effects of ischemia on myocardial cell membranes. He has published over 80 abstracts, papers, and editorials. He completed his undergraduate work at Cornell University in 1971 and obtained his MD and PhD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1978. His medicine residency training was at UCLA and Wadsworth VA Hospitals, and his cardiology training was completed at UCLA in 1984. He has been on faculty at UCLA and on staff at affiliated VA hospitals since then.
