Jeffrey Tabas, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, and Attending Physician in Emergency Services at San Francisco General Hospital. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, and a member of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine. Dr Tabas has lectured extensively at scientific conferences and medical education courses, with a focus in cardiovascular emergencies. His teaching has been widely recognized through recorded lectures and writings, and he was selected as the American College of Emergency Physicians 2002 runner-up Speaker of the Year. He completed both internal medicine and emergency medicine residencies at University of California Los Angeles Medical Center and is board-certified in both fields. His research interests lie in medical student and resident education, procedural skills training and safety, and cardiovascular emergencies.
