Biography

Personal History

Born and raised in Maple Plain, MN, Dr Jason Bartos is a Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. He is also the Associate Medical Director of the Center for Resuscitation Medicine and the President of the Minnesota Mobile Resuscitation Consortium (MMRC), where he works to improve the survival rates of cardiac arrest.4

 

Academic History

In 2001, Dr Bartos graduated from St. John's University, Collegeville, with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Psychology. In 2010, he was awarded his Medical Degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine. From 2001 to 2006, he worked on his PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Iowa.3

He did his Residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford University and Fellowships in Cardiovascular Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Minnesota.2

 

Career Overview

Dr Bartos is an Interventional Cardiologist who specializes in advanced hemodynamic support, cardiac critical care, pulmonary embolus, resuscitation and shock. He sees patients at the University of Minnesota Medical Center East Bank Hospital and University of Minnesota Health Clinics and Surgery Center. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Cardiovascular Division at the University of Minnesota Medical School.1

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, critical care medicine and interventional cardiology. His clinical interests include cardiac critical care, resuscitation, advanced hemodynamic support, pulmonary embolus and coronary artery disease and intervention. Dr Bartos has performed research in the field of ischemia and reperfusion injury for 20 years.4
