Dr Jamie O'Driscoll is based in Canterbury, UK where he holds the position of Reader in Cardiovascular Physiology at Canterbury Christ Church University.

 

Academic History

Dr Jamie O'Driscoll, BSc (Hons), MSc (Hons), CertEd, PhD, graduated with a 1st class honours in Sport Science from Brunel University, where he went on to earn a distinction in his MSc in Health and Exercise Physiology. His completed PhD analysed differences in autonomic function between high and low cardiovascular disease risk patients.1

 

Career Overview

Dr O'Driscoll began working for Canterbury Christ Church University in 2011 as Senior Lecturer of Exercise Physiology. Since 2020 he has held the position of Reader in Cardiovascular Physiology at the same institution. His primary interest is cardiovascular physiology, particularly the clinical applications of cardiopulmonary exercise testing and cardiac structure and function in response to physiological and pharmacological stress in high-risk cardiac patients. His broader interests include cardiac health and disease, vascular health and physiology. Integration within the department has fuelled an interest in isometric exercise training and its application in clinical populations. He is the author or co-author of over 80 academic publications.2
