Gustavo A Lopera, MD, FACC, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of the Arrhythmia Service at Miami VA Healthcare System, the affilliated Teaching Hospital of the University of Miami. His research focuses on risk stratification for sudden cardiac death, ablation of ventricular tachycardia, and cardiac pacing. Dr Lopera is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and a Member of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS). He graduated from Pontificia Bolivaria University School of Medicine in Medellin. He completed his training in internal medicine and cardiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
