Frank J Criado is Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Director of the Center for Vascular Intervention at Union Memorial Hospital. He is a board-certified vascular surgeon, a founding member and current secretary of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists (ISES), a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of all major US and international vascular societies. Dr Criado is internationally recognised as an expert and pioneer in minimally invasive endovascular procedures and interventional management of vascular disease. Dr Criado established Union Memorial Hospital’s endovascular programme in 1988 and has authored more than 100 peer-review journal publications, numerous book chapters and has served as author/editor of several books on endovascular procedures. Designated as principal investigator in several Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-sanctioned endovascular device trials, Dr Criado has played a prominent role in implementing endovascular training for cardiovascular specialists. He was one of 12 Union Memorial doctors recognised in Baltimore Magazine’s 2005 Top Doctors issue.
