Biography

Dr Rowland is currently Member of the Department of Health Arrhythmia Board and President of Heart Rhythm UK. Dr Rowland was Chairman of the Multicentre European Radiofrequency Survey, Past Chairman of the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Computers in Cardiology and a council member of the British Pacing & Electrophysiology Group. Dr Rowland co-chaired the expert panel responsible for National Service Framework document on Cardiac Arrhythmias and Sudden Death.

Dr Rowland is particularly interested in the investigation and management of cardiac arrhythmias. He continues to be involved in the clinical management of patients with rhythm disorders and in the development of new methods of treatment. He has specialised in the development of clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac pacemakers, and especially catheter ablation techniques. He has given more than 300 lectures, written more than 100 papers and appeared on over 300 abstracts.

Dr Rowland is a member of the Arrhythmia & Electrophysiology Review editorial board.
