Biography

Dr Behnam Tehrani is a System Associate Director for Interventional Cardiology, Executive Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories for Inova and Co-Director of Complex Coronary Therapeutic Program.

Dr Behnam Tehrani also serves as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at both George Washington University and the University of Virginia. He is involved in clinical trials and registries pertaining to complex coronary interventions, renal denervation, cardiogenic shock and pulmonary embolism.

Dr Tehrani is also part of the team that introduced renal denervation services for treating resistant hypertension, as well as the rapid-response team for diagnosing and treating pulmonary embolism and the team that treats chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.

Recognised nationally for his leadership, Dr Tehrani serves on committees for both the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He has co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts and book chapters, with his work published in top medical journals including Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), JACC: Heart Failure, JACC: Cardiovascular Interventions, JAMA Cardiology, Circulation: Heart Failure, and Journal of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He also contributes as a peer reviewer for Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, European Heart Journal, American Heart Journal, and Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions.
