Radcliffe Cardiology partners with KDIGO for creation of independent medical education programmes
PRESS RELEASE PUBLISHED: SEP 08, 2023

8 September 2023 – Buckinghamshire, UK

Radcliffe Cardiology, a global community for cardiovascular professionals, today announces a partnership with Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes (KDIGO), a Belgium-based global organisation developing and implementing evidence-based clinical practice guidelines in kidney disease.

The agreement will see Radcliffe work with KDIGO for the creation and dissemination of independent medical education programmes to further the knowledge and effectiveness of healthcare practitioners in both kidney and heart disease-related disciplines. The agreement will bring together Radcliffe’s expertise and innovation in the creation of the highest quality medical education, with KDIGO’s focus on awareness, integration of clinical guidelines and best practice.

Of the agreement David Ramsey, CEO of Radcliffe Group (owner of Radcliffe Cardiology), commented: “In recent years, we have embarked on a journey to broaden our educational scope to cover the entire cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic spectrum. This expansion is driven by the growing complexity of the multidisciplinary team approach to diagnosing and treating these conditions. Patients with chronic kidney disease are at elevated risk of heart failure, coronary artery disease and arrhythmias.

Having access to the highest-quality education on the diagnosis and treatment strategies available to multi-disciplined teams – and the awareness of the complexities of co-morbidities – is of paramount interest to Radcliffe’s global community of healthcare professionals. Therefore, engaging KDIGO for its expertise, knowledge and passion in this area makes perfect sense.”

John Davis, KDIGO Chief Executive Officer, commented:

“KDIGO recently announced an organisational priority on the intersection between kidney and cardiovascular disease. KDIGO’s mission is to improve the lives of people with kidney disease, which by necessity includes education not just in nephrology but also in cardiology.

We are delighted to work with Radcliffe Cardiology on exciting new educational programs addressing a range of topics in cardio-kidney metabolic medicine. Their knowledge, innovation, and expertise make Radcliffe Cardiology a natural partner for KDIGO in this endeavor, and we’re excited for what’s to come.”
