Overview
Building on the outstanding success of 2020’s inaugural event, Rhythm Interventions Online (RIO) 2021 again delivered the highest quality learning over three days.
With an interactive programme designed to reflect the very latest tips, tricks and technologies, the aim of RIO 2021 was, conversely, one of continuity: the continue to provide you, the healthcare practitioner, with stimulating virtual sessions to educate, challenge, and best support optimal outcomes in patient care. Central to RIO’s philosophy was for all sessions to again be free-to-access, providing a platform for the widest dissemination of live case procedures, expert opinions and best-in-class presentations and discussion.
Watch the full programme – including symposia and breakouts – on-demand here.
Radcliffe Cardiology will publish details on the next year's event – RIO 2022 – shortly.
Note, the live version of this session was CME accredited; this on-demand version is not.

Faculty Biographies
Jason G Andrade
Director, Atrial Fibrillation Clinic, Electrodiagnostics, and Cardiac Electrophysiology
Dr Jason Andrade is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist at Vancouver General Hospital in Canada, with joint appointment at St Paul’s Hospital and the Montreal Heart Institute. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC), and an Adjunct Professor at the Université de Montréal. Dr Andrade is the Director of the Electrophysiology Program at VGH, as well as Head of the Atrial Fibrillation Clinic at VGH. He also serves as co-chair of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Atrial Fibrillation Guidelines committee, and serves as the medical lead for the atrial fibrillation care in the province of British Columbia. He previously served as chair of the education committee for the Canadian Heart Rhythm society.
Dr Andrade is the principal investigator of two ongoing multicenter clinical trials on cryoablation (the CIRCA-DOSE study and the EARLY-AF program). He has authored or co-authored over 120 scientific publications, predominantly in…
Claire Martin
Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist
Dr Martin undertook undergraduate and clinical training at Cambridge University (Gonville and Caius College). She then completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge funded by a Medical Research Council Training Fellowship, and for this was awarded the British Cardiovascular Society Young Research Workers’ Prize. After specialist training at Papworth Hospital, she undertook clinical fellowships at two world-leading cardiac centres: Barts Heart Centre and subsequently at the Hopital du Haut-Leveque, Bordeaux, through funding from a prestigious European Society of Cardiology Training Grant.
Dr Martin treats all cardiac arrhythmias, and has a particular interest in the ablation of ventricular tachycardia and atrial fibrillation.
Atul Verma
Cardiac Electrophysiologist
Dr Atul Verma is the head of the Heart Rhythm Programme at Southlake Regional Health Centre and an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, US. He is also an Associate Scientist with the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute.
Specialising in complex arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia, he has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles including in The New England Journal of Medicine. Dr Verma has co-chaired the Canadian Cardiovascular Society Atrial Fibrillation Guidelines Committee and contributed to the HRS/EHRA Consensus Document on Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation. He currently leads and participates in multiple international clinical trials.
