Left Main Coronary Artery (LMCA) intervention is challenging to the operator due to a wide array of factors as compared to treating other stenosis elsewhere in the coronary tree. Complications arising from hemodynamic instability, lack of proximal reference angiographically and lesion preparation due to a higher rate of atherosclerosis make LM Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) by far the most complex to treat.
During this series of three live webinars on Overcoming the Complexities of Coronary Intervention – Contemporary PCI in LM Disease, our faculty of renowned international experts will walk you through the complexities of LM Disease and the state of the art image-guided stent optimization treatment strategies, in different clinical sub settings of LM aorta-ostial and LM-bifurcation disease.
This series is targeted at an international audience with a focus on clinical practice in the Asian, Middle Eastern and European cardiology community.

Andrew SP Sharp
Professor of Cardiology
Andrew Sharp qualified from Edinburgh Medical School in 1998 and subsequently pursued an MD postgraduate research degree at the University of Edinburgh. His doctoral research focused on the hypertensive heart, establishing a foundation for his ongoing clinical and academic interest in hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
Clinical Training & Early Career
Dr Sharp completed his early clinical training at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh before moving to London for senior clinical training at the hospitals of Imperial College London. He then undertook the prestigious Milan-Imperial Interventional Cardiology Fellowship programme, which included a year in Milan at San Raffaele and Columbus Hospitals, where he trained under leading experts in interventional cardiology. This combination of UK and international training shaped his expertise in complex coronary interventions and device-based therapies.

Sean Gallagher
Consultant Interventional Cardiologist
Dr Sean Gallagher is an interventional cardiologist based in Cardiff, United Kingdom. He currently serves as the Director of Interventional Cardiology at the University Hospital of Wales. Dr Gallagher has trained and worked in both the UK and internationally and is recognised for his expertise in advanced coronary intervention.
Academic History
Dr Gallagher completed his interventional cardiology training at The London Chest Hospital, where he developed advanced skills in coronary intervention. He subsequently undertook an overseas fellowship at the Ottawa Heart Institute in Canada, focusing on complex coronary procedures and interventional techniques.
Following completion of his specialist training, he was appointed as a consultant cardiologist in 2014. Alongside his clinical training, Dr Gallagher has been actively involved in academic research and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in the field of interventional cardiology,…
