Navigate real-world tricuspid valve intervention challenges with Dr Carla Agatiello

This presentation, part of Women As One's CLIMB® 2025 Skills Training Program on Structural Interventions, brings practical insights from the evolving landscape of tricuspid procedures in Latin America, where these innovative interventions represent the cutting edge of structural heart disease management.

Dr Agatiello shares a compelling valve-in-valve case demonstrating the power of creative problem-solving in complex tricuspid interventions. Following a young patient with multiple cardiovascular surgeries and dysfunctional bioprosthetic tricuspid valve, the presentation details the strategic decision-making process for transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement - from selecting the transjugular approach for a severely enlarged right ventricle to managing unexpected procedural complications. When device deployment encountered significant resistance, the multidisciplinary team's innovative use of balloon occlusion in the vein enabled successful valve positioning.
