Part 3 Conclusion and Q&A
In this practical, imaging-focused session, Akhil Narang, MD (Northwestern University, Chicago, IL) and Jordan B. Strom, MD (Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre, Boston, MA) provide expert guidance on the role of echocardiography in diagnosing and grading valve disease.
The faculty discuss identification and stratification of mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, including the prevalence of MR and TR, referral considerations, and the impact of timely diagnosis. They highlight how general cardiologists can optimise detection using transthoracic echo (TTE), with insights on the role of transoesophageal echo (TEE).
Further content explores quantitative and semi-quantitative assessment techniques, MR and TR grading scales, and practical advice for consistent interpretation of images and echo reports.
The programme concludes with considerations for image quality and diagnostic accuracy, including how to differentiate between moderate, moderate-to-severe, and severe disease, and how imaging findings guide decision-making within the multidisciplinary Heart Team.
Designed for cardiologists, imagers and Heart Team members, this on-demand resource provides essential tools to strengthen diagnostic confidence in valvular regurgitation.
Watch on demand now to sharpen your echo skills and enhance clinical decision-making.
