In this short interview, Dr Jeff Healey (McMaster University, Hamilton, CA) talks about the key data from the ATLAS (Avoid Transvenous Leads in Appropriate Subjects) trial (NCT02881255).The aim of the study was to compare standard, single chamber transvenous ICD (TV-ICD) to sub-cutaneous ICD (S-ICD) (Boston Scientific EMBLEM) in occurrence of perioperative and long term device related complications and failed appropriate clinical shocks and arrhythmic death.
