Learn about the management of HFrEF and HFpEF from Dr Michelle Kittleson (Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute, Los Angeles, US).

This two-part video lecture series, part of Women As One's CLIMB® 2025 Skills Training Program, provides a comprehensive overview of key treatments and therapy approaches to cardiomyopathies.

In this lecture, Dr Kittleson provides an in-depth review of the management of HFrEF and HFpEF. Using recent guidelines and trials such as PARADIGM-HF and STRONG-HF, she highlights the evidence behind current treatment strategies. For HFrEF, Dr Kittleson underscores the importance of quadruple therapy—using ARNI, beta-blockers, mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, and SGLT2 inhibitors—and shares her own clinical approach. Finally, Dr Kittleson throughly analyses the most effective and least beneficial therapies for HFpEF from the past five years.
