Cardiac Resynchronisation

Cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) improves not only quality of life but also the prognosis of the patients. It reduces the morbidity and mortality of patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction and intra-ventricular conduction delay. Multisite pacing, which stimulates the myocardium from more than one locations, is a potential therapeutic option in patients requiring CRT.

In symptomatic chronic heart failure, longer QRS duration and lower left ventricular ejection fraction independently predict early clinical response to CRT.
