This symposium has been designed to cover some of the aspects of modern cardiology practice that provides difficulty in diagnosis, assessment and management of patients to both the specialist and generalist We have focussed our first session on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition being increasingly recognised due to changes in cardiac imaging. This condition is linked with sudden death and significant morbidity in both young and old. The session will examine diagnosis, imaging, management, family screening, genetic testing and future training in this condition.

Our other sessions review and update latest evidence and guidelines on the management of

  • Coronary disease assessment
  • Syncope
  • Ventricular arrhythmias.

In addition to receiving a contemporary review of these ever changing fields conference delegates will gain an appreciation of the challenge of translating new technologies and clinical trials into everyday clinical practice.
