Addressing the Challenges in Cardiorenal Patient Care

Radcliffe Medical Education is hosting a symposium entitled 'Addressing the Challenges in Cardiorenal Patient Care' at the Heart Failure Association (HFA) in Belgrade (RS) on Sunday 18 May 2025 at 12:30–13:30 CEST.
Overview
In this symposium, join Dr Kieran Docherty (Glasgow, UK), Prof Clara Saldarriaga (Medellin, CO) and Prof Gianluigi Savarese (Stockholm, SE) as they explore the complexities of managing patients with both heart failure and chronic kidney disease. Through expert discussion and a real-world case study, the faculty examine why achieving guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) remains challenging in this high-risk group.
This session has been designed to equip clinicians with practical strategies to navigate the therapeutic gaps in cardiorenal care. Our aim is to support cardiologists, nephrologists and internal medicine specialists in optimising outcomes for patients living with this dual burden.
Learning Objectives
After attending this symposium, physicians will be able to:
- Discuss why getting cardiorenal patients onto GDMT is challenging
- Recall the residual risk posed by the co-existence of heart failure and chronic kidney disease
- Adopt practical approaches to managing cardiorenal patients based on examples explored during this activity
- Detail gaps in current standards of care for cardiorenal patients
- Discuss ongoing efforts aimed at addressing residual risk, hyperkalaemia and clinical inertia in cardiorenal disease
