"Implementing a Healthy China Strategy and Providing Comprehensive Health Services to the People during Their Whole Life" was put forward in the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Subsequently, the "Law of the People's Republic of China on Basic Health Care and Health Promotion (draft)" was deliberated and adopted by the National People’s Congress. This is the first basic and comprehensive law enacted to promote and safeguard the implementation of Healthy China Strategy. The Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology is going to commit to the topic of “Healthy idea, ideal health”, which is exactly the connotation of Healthy China Strategy. Under the current grim situation in the prevention and control of cardiovascular disease, it is more essential for us to work in unison and contribute to this cause and Healthy China.

29 years ago, Professor Hu Dayi painstakingly opened the Great Wall Congress of Cardiology from an intervention training workshop with only a hundred participants to an internationally recognized Asia Pacific conference. It has become a comprehensive cardiovascular academic feast that has developed from a single topic to a comprehensive one covering basic and clinical medicine and related diseases. It is an open, inclusive and innovative platform as well as a preaching, teaching and learning school. Since the 26th Great Wall Congress, Professor Ma Changsheng and Professor Han Yaling have inherited the past and made reforms in the organizational mode, in order to achieve globalization. The launching of the annual rotation of the congress’s president and the implementation of the forum’s chairmanship resulted in an increasing impact at home and abroad——The 28th Great Wall Congress will have more than 20,000 participants. One of the important issues for us is to better exert the positive influence of this operation mode. This Great Wall Congress will gather the opinions and suggestions from experts of the cardiologists in different generations, allowing reformation and innovation to take place. On one hand, it will fully demonstrate and exchange the brilliant achievements on the research of cardiovascular disease.
