Professor Auricchio is the Director of the Clinical Electrophysiology Unit and Heart Failure Program at Fondazione Cardiocentro Ticino, Lugano, Switzerland. He is also the Immediate Past-President of the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA). Professor Auricchio is a world authority on the non-pharmacological management of heart failure and use of cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) and implantable devices in arrhythmias.

Professor Auricchio is also Full Professor of Cardiology at Magdeburg University Hospital in Germany
