William D Jordan is Professor and Chief of the Section of Vascular Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery. In addition to this appointment, he is an Attending Surgeon at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital and Director of the Vascular Laboratory at The Kirklin Clinic. He is board certified since 1989 by the National Board of Medical Examiners, since 1994 the American Board of Surgery and since 1996 the American Board of Surgery for added qualifications in Vascular Surgery. In addition to other awards and honors, Dr. Jordan received the 1999 President’s Award from the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery. He is currently a member and active in several professional societies including: Alabama Vascular Society, American Association for Vascular Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr Jordan serves as an editorial reviewer for the following journals: Journal of Vascular Surgery; Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery; Vascular Surgery; Journal of Endovascular Therapy; and Circulation (Journal of the American Heart Association). He is also on the Editorial Boards for the following journals: Vascular, Annuals of Vascular Surgery and the Journal of Endovascular Therapy. Since 1994 he has published numerous articles and book chapters.
