Biography
Teresa Taft Levitch is a strategic healthcare communicator, writer, and patient advocate whose work focuses on cancer rehabilitation, survivorship, and cardiovascular health. She has developed patient-centered content and campaigns for organisations including the CDC Foundation, AstraZeneca, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the American Heart Association, and the Cancer Survivorship & Supportive Care Professional Network (CSPN).
A two-time cancer survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Breast Cancer, Teresa founded Lotus Seed to build an international community of survivors and to elevate rehabilitation, function, and quality of life as essential elements of cancer care. As a patient author with AstraZeneca, she has co‑authored two peer‑reviewed heart failure articles on patient engagement and self‑care, including “Challenges and opportunities for increasing patient involvement in heart failure self‑care programs and self‑care in the post–hospital discharge period” and “Empowering Heart Failure Patients: The Role, Importance, and Considerations of Active Patient Engagement in Improving Delivery of Guideline‑Directed Medical Therapy.”
She has spoken for the American Heart Association’s EPI|Lifestyle Scientific Sessions as a patient advocate and contributes to CSPN as an editor and content developer, translating emerging evidence into practical tools for oncology and rehabilitation clinicians. Teresa holds a Master’s degree in Education and specialises in inclusive, plain‑language communication that helps people living with and beyond cancer understand their options and navigate complex, multidisciplinary care.
