Stuart D Katz has been Associate Professor of Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine; Director since 2001. He is also Director of Heart Failure/Heart Transplantation and Director of the Clinical Vascular Physiology Laboratory at the Yale Heart Failure Center. He has also been Attending Physician at the Department of Internal Medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital Medical Center since 2001. Previously, he was Associate Professor of Medicine (1999–2001) and Assistant Professor of Medicine (1992–1998) at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. From 1989 to 1992, he was Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Clinical Research Unit and Co-Director of the Nuclear Exercise Laboratory at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Professor Katz has written many original research papers, reviews and book chapters and has been the recipient of many pharmaceutical industry-supported, investigator-initiated grants. Professor Katz obtained a BS in Biology, cum laude, from Yale University in 1979, his MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, NY in 1983 and an MS in Biostatistics from Columbia University School of Public Health in 2002.
