Professor Prakash P. Punjabi is a highly experienced consultant cardiothoracic surgeon, serving since 1998 at Hammersmith Hospital under the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London, UK. He also holds the esteemed position of Professor of Practice in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Imperial College London.
Renowned globally for his expertise, Professor Punjabi specializes in mitral valve disease and coronary artery disease. With surgical privileges in multiple countries, he dedicates part of his practice to charitable cases, enhancing accessibility to life-saving treatments.
Professor Punjabi’s groundbreaking research focuses on cardiac function, with particular emphasis on cardiac surgery clinical trials, regenerative cardiovascular medicine, and innovative applications of cardiac 3D printing. He has authored over 250 peer-reviewed publications, including a notable contribution to the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) on the landmark LAAOS III international clinical trial.
