Biography

Dr Pouya Joolharzadeh is a Chief Cardiology Fellow at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where he is completing training in general cardiology as well as a dedicated fellowship in Cardio-Oncology and Amyloidosis. He previously served as an internal medicine chief resident, a role in which he developed a deep focus on medical education, curriculum development, and trainee mentorship that he continues in his current role. His clinical and academic interests include complex cardiovascular disease, multimodality imaging, and the cardiovascular care of patients with cancer, with a particular research interest in immune checkpoint inhibitor–associated cardiotoxicity. Prior to pursuing medicine, he earned a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of California, Irvine, and remains actively engaged in music.
